Praying for Your Husband: Attitude

Father, I pray that you would fill ___(name)___ with your love and peace today, that he would feel at peace and have a sense of well-being as he lives this day for you.

I pray that you would fill him with your Spirit, and that his attitude would reflect the fruits of your Spirit . . . love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.

I pray that you would give him confidence in his identity as your beloved child so that he would not be tempted to seek after the approval or attentions of others but that he would have the grace to take on the very attitude of Christ (Phil. 2:3-8). Help him to have an attitude of humility and a heart of service that would be pleasing and honoring to you.

Help him not to act out of selfish ambitions. Help him not to be easily provoked. I pray that by the power of Jesus’ name you would set him free from any feelings of anger, unrest, anxiety, inner turmoil, strife, and tension. Deliver him from fears and frustrations that would cloud his mind and influence his words and actions. Help him not to be anxious about anything, but instead, help him to lay it all down before your throne . . . all his cares, all his fears, all his concerns.

Remove from him any attitude that is selfish, prideful, indifferent, bitter, or unloving. Enable him, instead, to be humble, caring, forgiving, compassionate, and generous. Let his very attitude display genuine love to those around him, that all who interact with him would see Jesus in his very words and actions.

Enable him to bear all things and hope in all things, with perseverance to endure to the end. Grant him an attitude of gratitude, that he would be able to count his blessings and give you thanks and praise in all circumstances. Grant him a spirit of joy and thanksgiving. Help him to look for the good in every given situation and to trust you even when life his difficult or the road ahead is unclear. Give him the ability to laugh and find humor even in the most trying of circumstances.

Help him to give thanks in all things so that he can know the peace that passes all understanding.

Give him the grace to be able to say, “I have learned to be content in whatever situation I am in . . . for the sake of Christ I am content with weaknesses, insults, hardships, persecutions, and calamities. For when I am weak, then I am strong.”

(Philippians 4:11; 2 Corinthians 12:10)

Above all, I pray that you would give ___(name)___ an attitude of worship today! That in everything he does, everything he says, his tone of voice, how he relates to others, and his very thoughts and actions would be done as an act of worship for your glory.

I pray that he would be able to keep you in the forefront of his mind today, serving you with gladness, and praising you in all things. That no matter what this day may bring, that it would have lasting and eternal value because it was filled with worship and lived out for your glory!

Amen!
