Variegated Lace Doily

Materials:
Crochet Thread (size 10) -
Steel Crochet Hook: size 7
Note: I used a 100% Micro Fiber thread when making this doily. The thread is very glossy, which makes it a little more difficult to use than regular cotton crochet thread, but the glossy thread gives the doily a very shiny look and the finished product feels very soft and light.
You can use any crochet thread you like for this pattern, but if you would like the same microfiber thread that I use you can purchase it on Amazon:

Special Stitches:
Shell: (3 dc, ch 2, 3 dc) in space indicated.
Doily:
With variegated thread, ch 4, sl st in first ch to form ring.
Rnd 1: ch 4 (counts as dc, ch 1), (dc in ring, ch 1) 11 times; join with sl st top
of first ch-
Rnd 2: sl st in next ch-
Rnd 3: sl st in next ch-
Rnd 4: sl st in next ch-
Rnd 5: sl st in next ch-
Rnd 6: sl st in next ch-
Rnd 7: sl st in next dc and next ch-
Rnd 8: sl st in next dc and next ch-
Rnds 9 -
Rnd 11: sl st to center of first shell, ch 3 (2 dc, ch 2, 3 dc) in same sp (shell made), ch 1, (shell in next shell, ch 1) around; join.
Rnd 12: sl st to center of first shell, ch 3, (2 dc, ch 2, 3 dc) in same sp (shell made), ch 2, (shell in next shell, ch 2) around; join.
Rnd 13: sl st to center of first shell, ch 3, (2 dc, ch 2, 3 dc) in same sp (shell made), ch 3, (shell in next shell, ch 3) around; join.
Rnd 14: sl st to center of first shell, ch 3, (2 dc, ch 2, 3 dc) in same sp (shell made), ch 4, (shell in next shell, ch 4) around; join.

Rnd 17: (sl st, ch 1, sc) in first ch sp, (ch 3, sc in next ch sp) 7 times, * sc in next ch sp, (ch 3, sc in next ch sp) 7 times, repeat from * around, join with sl st to first sc. Finish off.
