Busy Mom Bible Study: Love’s Sacrifice

Welcome to another month of the Busy Mom Bible Study Series!

I put this study together right around Valentine’s Day, and I have to admit, it was very tempting for me to conduct a very flowery and beautiful study about love, but as I was praying about the topic of the month, I felt led instead to do a study on sacrifice.

It’s easy to get caught up in the worldly description of love with all its flowers, chocolates, bubbly feelings, and romantic sentiments, but, as we are going to discover in this month’s Bible study, love isn’t really love until it gives itself away, and that requires sacrifice!

This study is completely FREE and requires no advance preparation. Just use the link below to get your copy of the Bible study, then grab your Bible and a pen and get started!

Hungry for More?

These Bible studies are designed to be short and sweet in order to fit well into your busy lifestyle, but if you’re like me, there are some days when you just feel like the study was too short, almost as if it was a little appetizer that left you hungry for more. So here’s some more resources, ideas, and activities for those “hungry for more” days . . .

Sermons & Christian Messages

The Results of Selfless Love (Paul Washer)

The Impact of Sacrificial Love (Francis Chan)

I really like this hearts coloring page. The space in the hearts is ideal for writing in whichever Bible verse you want!

Bible Art Journaling

As you go through the different verses this month, how about turning the verses into some Bible Art?

For starters you can just draw on plain pieces of paper and create beautiful art to hang on your walls or use as bookmarks in your Bible.

If you want to go more elaborate you can purchase a Journaling Bible and fill the pages with your art.

If you’re new to Bible Art Journaling here’s a great article to help you get started:

Books & Devotionals

A Different Kind of Happiness: Discovering the Joy That Comes from Sacrificial Love

by Larry Crabb

Everywhere we look, we see evidence that love is in short supply. We put our own interests and happiness first, despite the fact that the greatest happiness comes through sacrificial love. A Different Kind of Happiness shows you a love that is deeper than being nice and serving others. It's a love that relates to others in such a way that they feel heard, seen, and valued. A love that sacrifices and suffers and keeps loving, even when doing so is costly.

Set-Apart Motherhood: Reflecting Joy and Beauty in Family Life

by Leslie Ludy

Being a mother is tough, and sometimes life can be hectic and disorganized. This book will encourage, inspire, and equip moms to be successful in raising their kids, managing their homes, and keeping Christ at the center of their mothering. Written from the perspective of a mom who is currently “in the trenches” with several young children at home, Leslie will help guide readers to become mothers who are set apart for God’s purposes.
